Wow, I put my new Serenity Plush sheets on yesterday and am I ever impressed with them. They are soooo soft and warm, I absolutely loved them! If you like flannel sheets in the winter time, you will absolutley love these, they are the softest, coziest sheets I have ever felt. They do not pill like flannel sheets, they last longer and stay looking nice. I highly suggest these sheets for winter. You can go here to check them out http://www.myprivatequarters.com/catalog_fall09/ pg.16
The sheets are actually Layer 4, which means we have skipped over Layer 3 , the Sleeping Pillow.
The sleeping pillow is probably the most important item in the comfort equation. Having a high quality pillow is essential to a good night's sleep. Private Quarters offers three levels of pillows. A pillow must support your head so that your neck and spine are properly aligned. Choose the right pillow for the way you sleep soft, medium or firm. A quality pillow can mold to the shape and thickness that you desire for the way you sleep. Feather and down fills tend to be more adjustable than synthetic fills. A good pillow that supports your head properly contributes to the health of your back and neck.
Private Quarters Standard pillow offers very firm support and is recommended for those who prefer sleeping on their sides. The Superior pillow offers a medium level of support, recommended for those who prefer sleeping on their backs as well as those who tend to change sleeping positions during the night. The Deluxe pillows offer soft and gentle support, recommended for those who sleep on their stomachs. Each of Private Quarters level of pillows are offered in Fiber Fill or Feather and Down.
Private Quarters also offers body pillow and Euro Sham fillers as well as pillow covers, including a allergen barrier pillow cover.
A pillow is a personnel preference and has a bigger impact on the way you sleep more than any other single item in the sleep system.
The next post, we will cover more on the sheets, Layer 4.

A Mattress cover not just for protection, but comfort.
Yesterday I told you about the wonderful Featherbed. There actually is a layer that comes before the featherbed and that is the Mattress Cover. The Mattress Cover an essential layer, it provides protection for your mattress and Private Quarter's Mattress Cover also provides a layer of comfort. Private Quarter's has two options for you to chose from, you can choose the one that's right for you.
A mattress is expensive and made to last for years. The protection of a good mattress cover will ensure that investment last a long time.
To protect and give comfort, a mattress cover must fit well. Do you have one of those mattress covers that slips off the corner? Our heavy duty stretch skirt will stretch to fit mattresses up to 21" thick and hold them snug. Private Quarter's standard mattresss cover has a 250 thread count damask stripe all cotton top and thick 1 1/2" layer of polyester fill. It's like adding a pillow top to your mattress. The Superior mattress cover is so thick and cushy it's almost a featherbed! It has a 300 thread count dobby dot all cotton top and a billowy 2 1/2" layer of polyester fill.
For a fraction of the price of a new mattress, you can make your mattress look great and feel cushy and comfortable once again. Refresh it with a sumptuous new mattress cover and revive your mattress!

I no longer wake up stiff and sore and my husband doesn't snore anymore!
Okay so were ready to build a comfy inviting bed for you fall asleep in faster, stay asleep and awake feeling rested and not stiff or sore. The first product I would like to introduce to you then is actually the Second layer of the Blissful Bed, it's the FEATHERBED!!!!!
Feather Beds originated in northern Europe, and were luxury items for the wealthy. Well, today the Featherbed is not just for the wealthy, but you may feel like you are part of the wealthy society after sleeping on one. Over the years the featherbed became the standard of comfort and the symbol of luxury. Now Amercians are discovering this European secret and enjoying the luxurious comfort of the featherbed. The featherbed is a special layer of comfort that you have to experience to really appreciate. The featherbed cradles the body and relieves pressure points that reduce circulation and cause tossing and turning. A featherbed can make such a difference in the way you sleep.
The Featherbed can be used in two ways. First, on top of the mattress pad, but under the fitted sheet. Secondly, on top of the fitted sheet, but covered by another sheet like a flat sheet or covered with a featherbed cover.
Featherbeds are made with a 2-3 inch layer of feathers with a downproof and featherproof cover. In better quality featherbeds, the feathers are small and sometimes crushed to minimize the feel of any quills. Additionally, better quality featherbeds have added features like fiberfilled tops or down tops to add extra softness to the feel of the featherbed.
Fiberbeds are down alternatives. Made in the same way as the featherbed, but with synthetic fiber instead of feathers. Fiberbeds are completely hypoallergenic.
Private Quarters offers three level of Featherbeds. The Superior Fiberbed, filled with a generous 2 inch layer of cluster fiber and topped with a layer of very soft and luxurious microfiber. The Superior Featherbed is filled with a generous 2 inch layer of small curly feathers and topped with a layer of very soft and luxurious microfiber. The Deluxe Featherbed has a 2 inch layer of small feathers and the added luxury of a layer of wonderfully soft down on top for a Deluxe layer of cushioning.
What makes Private Quarters Featherbeds better than others? First of all, Private Quarters featherbeds are made with baffle boxes, a series of inner chambers with 2" high walls that hold the fill in the place and keep it even throughout the featherbed or fiberbed, giving you an even distribution of comfort. Private Quarters featherbeds are filled with very small feathers for greater comfort and our fiberbeds are filled with soft, but supportive, cluster fiber fill. The quality of the feathers and fiber fill is very important, Private Quarters uses the highest quality.
Second of all, this is critical, all of PQ's feathers have been super-cleaned, to make them allergen free. You may have experienced an allergic reaction to feathers previously. It is actually not the down or feathers that people are allergic to, but the impurities that are in them. A rigorous cleaning process can remove up to 99% of those impurities, rendering down and feathers hypo-allergenic to all but a very small percentage of people who are allergic to even the smallest amount of impurities. Private Quarters have been super-cleaned and customers are able to use our products with confidence of no allergens, this process is a very expensive process, but enables almost everyone the ability to sleep on a true featherbed without complications of allergies. These factors is what makes the difference of a $49 featherbed and a $199 featherbed.
Caring for your Featherbed is pretty simple. Each time you wash your sheets, it is a good idea to shake the feathers to re-fluff the feathers. I actually fluff mine a little each night, I simply reach under my fitted sheet and give my featherbed a little fluff, getting the most out of my featherbed each night. It is also a good idea to air out your featherbed occasionally to freshen it, you can do this while your sheets are washing.
I personally have had wonderful results of sleeping on a featherbed. We had a good mattress on our bed, but still woke up stiff and sore in the mornings, my husbands arms would fall asleep and he snored like no tomorrow! Making both are nights, unrestful. Since sleeping on the featherbed, I wake up feeling great, no longer stiff and sore, my husbands arms aren't falling asleep and the best part, he is not snoring!!!!!! We seem to both be getting more comfortable and therefore are entering a deeper level of sleep, getting more rest. The featherbed fills in the crevices that the mattress does not, supporting our body so our pressure points don't have to, providing even distribution of weight for our whole body, resulting in not waking up sore any more.
You really owe it to yourself to try a featherbed and get the best comfort you can each night, better sleep! Visit my Private Quarters website to learn more. And, this month learn how you can get a free featherbed.

Are You Getting Enough Sleep?
We do need a good night's sleep, but according to a 2009 Sleep Foundation poll, 20 percent of American adults get less than 6 hours of sleep a night. That's simply not enough sleep for anyone. Adults need between 7 and 9 hours of sleep each night, while children actually need between 10 and 13 hours of sleep.
The impact of sleep deprivation includes, reduced mental clarity, lack of energy, irritability and depression. Sleep deprivation can also impact our waking health habits as well. People who don't get enough sleep are less likely to exercise and almost twice as likely to eat unhealthy, high-sugar foods and use tobacco products. Even more frightening, 54% of those surveyed admit to driving drowsy.
While it may feel like a waste of time to devote seven to nine hours to sleeping each night, the body needs that time to rebuild. While we're sleeping, the body is hard at work. Many hormones, such as growth hormones important to children and adults for muscle building and tissue repair - regulating appetite and metabalism are secreted during sleep. Recent studies indicate links between lack of sleep and serious health issues, including cancer, heart problems and obesity.
Getting enough sleep isn't simply about looking well-rested. It's about feeling better and living a happier, healthier life.
What can help us get a better nights sleep?
1. Keep your bedroom free of phones, t.v., fax machines and other electronics.
2. Keep your room dark, even the smallest little bit of light will start increasing your melatonin levels. Don’t use a night-light and don’t turn on the bath-room light if you have to get up in the middle of the night (or use a very weak light if it’s too dark).
3. Remove clutter, this only distracts you
4. Think about the color of your room, is it a relaxing, soothing color. You need a color that is peaceful and sets a serene mood.
5. Keep your bedroom cool. As you might have now guessed, a lower room temperature means a lower body temperature for you, which, of course, means you’ll fall asleep faster and more soundly. Of course, you shouldn’t go to extremes either: If the room is too cold, you won’t be able to fall asleep at all, because your body will be busy trying to warm you up!
6. Since you’re going to spend a third of your life in it, invest in a high-quality bed. Bedding that provides you comfort.
Tomorrow we will talk about what type of bedding can create a comfy, relaxing atmosphere for you and help you to fall asleep sooner.
